Jenny Alonge, DVM, earned her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University, followed by an equine medicine and surgery internship at Louisiana State University. She spent 17 years working as an equine ambulatory veterinarian in Northern Virginia, providing hands-on care to horses and building long-term relationships with clients. After transitioning from full-time clinical practice, Jenny spent three years working with a small company that produces veterinary-related educational content and has since worked as a freelance veterinary writer. Her areas of special interest include ophthalmology, kidney disease, and dental care, and she is passionate about translating complex medical information into clear, accurate, and engaging content.
Jenny’s work has been published in respected industry outlets, including NAVC Today’s Veterinary Business, where she authored pieces such as Taking the Next Steps in Telehealth, Clinic Innovation Guide 2024 and Staying Out of the Courtroom.
Jenny became a veterinarian out of a deep love for animals and a desire to ease their pain and suffering. She believes animals greatly enrich our lives and deserve compassionate, high- quality care when they are sick or injured. Outside of work, she is kept entertained and well supplied with daily cuddle time by her two cats, Pops and Olive.
